Case Study - Home Sale Solutions

Capital IT and Web were given the task of creating a completely new web site design for Home Sale Solutions, as their old web site had passed it's use by date. The new site had to have a clean look, be easy to navigate and also be easy for the owners to update themselves.

The front end was developed first, using company colours and logos provided by the client. A very simple Flash animation was used at the top of the screen with typewritten text. We used a left hand CSS menu system for this site, which is lightning fast to load.

Once the front end had been developed it was time to look at the content management system behind the site. We have just used a very simple Access database on this site which stores property information and file information for up to 5 images per property. Properties are very easy to add - it's just a matter of filling in a form, selecting 5 images from your hard drive and clicking a button. A background process automatically resizes all images and creates thumbnails on the fly. Within seconds the property is up, live on the web site.

Of course once the property has been uploaded, there are going to be times when information needs to be changed. All information can be easily modifed and updated in seconds. Once a property has sold the user can display "Sold" on the property, or simply delete the property.
