1.
Capital IT and WEB were contracted with the task of creating a database driven content managed web site for Webber Furniture in May 2004. The web site would need to display product images, descriptions and prices and it needed to be easy to update and maintain.

The first thing we did was work on the front end of this site, getting the look and feel right while making sure to make the product categories simple and easy to browse. Once the front end had been built it was time to work on the database back end, with content management integration. The site owners needed to be able to upload images, and those images needed to resize automatically to a thumbnail size and a full size.

3.
The back end of this site uses a simple Microsoft Access database, which retains all of the data the site owners enter in about their products. We created a simple form which allows the site owners to enter a product name, description, category, price and a photo. The system then takes that information and stores it in the database for immediate output to the product pages. The images are thumbnailed and resized on the fly, and all product pages are dynamically optimised for the search engines.
