The new era of DVD writing has arrived - DUAL LAYER! Dual layers will enable the drive to write 8.5 GB on a dual layer DVD recordable where at the moment about 4.7 GB can be written to a DVD recordable. The GSA-4163B from LG will write dual layer DVD recordables at 2.4 speed and normal DVD+R at 16 speed, DVD-R discs are also written at 16 speed. DVD+RW and DVD-RW discs will write at a maximum of 8 speed. The GSA-4163B also writes CD-Rs at 40 speed, and CD-RW discs at 24 speed.
